Privacy Policy
What we collect, and why.
Short, because the site does very little. Last updated 30 July 2026.
What we collect
Two things you type in on purpose. If you subscribe, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from, and the date. If you submit a listener story, we store the name and email you provide, the capacity you selected, the story text, and your consent confirmation.
One thing you do not type in: general usage measurement. We run Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read — pages viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and what kind of device it was. It is not tied to your name, and if you have also subscribed we make no attempt to connect the two.
You can turn that measurement off, and if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal it is off already. The Cookie Policy lists every cookie involved and has the switch.
We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell or rent data, and we do not build profiles about you.
Why we collect it
Email addresses are used to send episodes and occasional notes about the show. Story submissions are read so Chris can decide whether to follow up with you.
Nothing you submit is published, quoted, or read on the show unless you agree to it first, separately, after we contact you.
Who else handles it
The site runs on Vercel. Subscriber and submission records are stored in Supabase. Email is sent through Resend. Usage measurement runs through Google Analytics. Each of those providers processes data on our behalf under their own terms, and none of them receives your information for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Story submissions are kept while they are under consideration and deleted on request.
Analytics data is set to be deleted after 14 months. That is long enough to compare a year against the one before it, and short enough that nothing accumulates indefinitely.
Your choices
Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. To see, correct, or delete anything we hold about you, use the contact route on the Community page and say what you want removed. We will do it and confirm when it is done.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date below is updated.
